Multi-platinum selling artist and three-time Grammy Award nominee Leona Lewis will appear at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Friday 12 July.

Leona’s promoters have announced that the Scarborough date will be one of two special live outdoor performances for the singer songwriter this summer, with the other performance forming part of Kew the Music 2013 – the summer concert season at the Royal Botanic Gardens.

Described as the most successful British female pop export in an age, Leona is set to captivate fans with stunning vocals from her album, ‘Glassheart’, which was released in October.

Leona’s most successful single, “Bleeding Love”, reached number one in over 30 countries around the world, and was the best-selling single worldwide in 2008.

Her two albums Spirit and Echo, released in 2007 and 2009 respectively, have collectively sold in excess of 10 million copies worldwide and topped the charts in numerous countries.

Leona has sold over 20 million records worldwide.

The release of Glassheart was preceded by the single ‘Collide’, which became her seventh top-five hit in the UK. With the release of ‘Hurt: The EP’ and ‘Trouble’, she has had nine top-ten hits in the UK.

Leona first came to prominence after winning the third series of The X Factor in 2006.

Leona is the third act to be announced for this summer’s line up at Scarborough Open Air Theatre after tickets went on sale last month for Status Quo (27 July) and McFly (30 August).
