From topping the charts with her power ballad Bleeding Love to dealing with the dangerous, violent side of fame, Leona Lewis has lived quite a life since winning X Factor UK in 2006! Known as one of the nicest gals in the music industry, the past couple of years have seen Leona making headlines for plastic surgery rumours and wild red carpet outfits – much more Lady Gaga than the Leona we’re used to. Then, her latest studio album, Glassheart, featuring single Collide, missed its end of 2011 release date and was pushed until summer 2012 without explanation.
Hitting a few bumps in what has otherwise been a straight shot to the top, Leona was punched by a mentally ill man during her book signing in London in 2009. At the time she told Ahlan! that it was “a bad thing to have happen, but you just have to get on with it.” That’s the same attitude she took when she ignored plastic surgery rumours. Some say that she did in fact get a nose and boob job, but Leona’s stayed mum on the touchy topic!
A huge fan of touring, we caught up with Leona before she takes the stage at the Dance Arena Festival in Dubai with Ne-Yo, Natasha Bedingfield, Jay Sean, Skylar Grey, Taio Cruz, Edward Maya and Sugababes’ Amelie. Check out our chat with the superstar…
We’re excited you’re headlining Dance Arena with Natasha Bedingfield and other A-listers. Can we expect any off-the-cuff moments?
Along with Natasha, I’ve worked with Ne-Yo and I know Taio and Jay Sean – and I’m always up for a duet or a bit of a surprise!
Can you give us a sneak peek at your set list?
I’m still deciding on my set, but I’ll probably start off with Brave. It’s one of my favorite songs on my second album.
You’re a huge David Bowie fan and have said that you would love to sing a duet with him – what about the girls?
I love Bowie. I think he’s incredible and I really would love to sing with him. I’d also love to collaborate with Alicia Keys!
We hear you want to guest star on Glee – are you interested in doing movies too?
I do like Glee and would love to do TV and film. I did drama and theatre in school.
You should! Rihanna just made her acting debut in Battleship – maybe you’re next.
Yes! Rihanna’s movie looks great. I was watching an interview with her and they were showing a clip from the film – she looks pretty amazing in it. I would definitely do an action movie like that. I bet it would be really fun, really challenging.
Your new album Glassheart, which had its release date bumped a few times, is due this summer. Is it finished?
I’m in the process of arranging it and putting the finishing touches on stuff. I’m really just enjoying the final moments. I would love to go on tour with this album. That’s my favourite part – performing live.
Do you have any pre-performance rituals?
I really like to listen to Seventies music! A little bit of ABBA or Imagination before I go on is great. I love amping myself up with that.
You’re performing at Cavalli Club after Dance Arena. Are you a fan of Cavalli’s clothes?
I do wear Cavalli. He’s really amazing and lends me a lot of beautiful gowns. The first fashion show I ever went to was his show!
We hear that you sing television jingles in the shower. Care to elaborate?
Ha! I sing television jingles all the time. I’ll bust into a jingle in the shower, in the recording studio and the people I’m working with will be like, ‘what the h*** are you singing?’
You dealt with an incident when a mentally ill man hit you in the face. Did you hear about the break-in at Simon Cowell’s house by a mentally ill woman last week?
I haven’t seen him in a little bit but I heard about it and thought it was fake. You never know, people sometimes make this stuff up.
The X Factor USA judges will be announced soon, who would you like to see on it?
I really liked the last judge lineup. I love Nicole Scherzinger and I thought Paula Abdul was really good too. For new judges, I’d like to see someone like Pink. She would be a really cool addition, a strong female with a different perspective and a different angle.
Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
S** on Fire by Kings of Leon or Teenage Dream by Katy Perry – though that one is much better when I sing with a group of friends!

Hello bunnies! Each day as a rumour and here is the one for today! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Leona Lewis has been choosen to be one of the four judges on the next season of US X-factor! She would be accompagnied by the pop superstar Britney Spears! That would be a huge opportunity for Leona to launch her carreer back in America… What do you guys think about this ? But nothing has been confirmed yet … just a RUMOUR!
THIS RUMOUR IS FALSE
According to The Hollywood Rapported, there will be a press conference today in the chain FOX and Syco (April 2), and multiple sources confirm that Britney Spears and Leona Lewis are the two new justices of the X-Factor. Although Spears is no longer a surprise given that many rumors have emerged over the last three months, Lewis is the new surprise!
“Simon has worked hard to accept that Leona Lewis to join the new juror because Fergie and Janet Jackson have denied” the source said. A person who was supposed to join Britney Spears was Avril Lavigne. The princessede Pop Punk, have also received an invitation went to the show. Ironically, the past season in April and Leona were present during the final episode of the first season of X Factor. Live auditions before jurors begin from May
The fact that Leona is on the table confirms the jury why the singer has delayed the launch of its new album for November. Britney Spears has been confirmed in the program two weeks ago, when Judge Reva Goetz has allowed the singer to join the program. Does this information is true? Expect a response from the Spears clan! All that remains of rumors, nothing has been reversed or confirmed yet …
Hello bunnies! As you all know Leona’s birthday is now in two days (April 3d) but Leona decided to make it big this year and for this she needed the whole week end. Indeed, she rented a whole huge UK mansion and create a two-days play for her and her friends… A mystery place for a mystery murder, the whole thing animated by DJ Manny Morte. Here are some pictures of the night! Looks like a pretty amazing brithday! Can’t wait for tuesday to celebrate Leona’s birthday.
Hey guys , a journalist from the DailyStar revealed some weird “exclusive” details on Leona Lewis’s next album Glassheart… Here is the article but be aware this could be an April fool… Hope it’s not, cause that would mean Leona’s come back is closer… Wait and see! What do you think of it ?
Leona Lewis’s third album may have been delayed by almost a year but I’m told her new single is ready for release.
The original X Factor queen is hoping to premiere the new song at Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend in June. And I’m told it’s a smash hit.
A source revealed: “Leona is so excited about her third album.
“The delays have obviously started rumours that the label isn’t happy but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
“Leona thinks this is her best album by far, and she wants to have a single out by the time of her Hackney Weekend performance.”
I’ve heard another single option, Trouble, by Emeli Sande and I love it.
The album is now scheduled for a November release but I hear it could be brought forward.
Hey guys no more news on Leona’s camp those days… Just be patient… Anyway, in the meantime, the amazing Katy Perry was interviewed a few years ago and gave her opinions on the x-factor/american idol shows. And she praises Leona! Let’s have a look… Thanks Katy, we love you.
“Leona Lewis, X-factor! Wow! I mean come on, that’s such a talent right there.”

Hello guys! It is now official Leona is one of the artist on the headline of the phenomenal BBC Radio1 Hackney Weekend Concert, in London. She will perform on June Saturday 23th! An honour for Leona Lewis who comes from this very special place of London’s city.
Worldwide megastar Leona Lewis is poised to put in the performance of her life at this homecoming set, signifying a return to the stage for the Hackney resident, presently perfecting her third album.
A far cry from the shy and sweet contestant who stole the heart of the nation before being crowned X Factor winner in 2006, Leona underwent an epic transformation, becoming an international celeb whilst securing her place as a national treasure. Radio 1 have played no small part in her journey; in 2007 her Live Lounge cover of Snow Patrol’s Run was so well received that it was later released as a single, securing Leona her third UK Number 1 single.
The multi-platinum selling, Grammy-nominee continues to show her appreciation by ensuring Radio 1 listeners are ahead of the pack, with her most recent single Collide receiving its’ first UK radio play on Scott Mills’ show back in July.
