LEONA Lewis wants to spoil the fun for this year’s X Factor winner – by beating them to the Christmas No1 spot doing a duet with Emeli Sande.
The 27-year-old shot to fame on the ITV talent show in 2006, when she had the festive No1 with A Moment Like This.
Now she wants to repeat the chart-topping feat with Scots singer Emeli.
Leona, the most successful X Factor contestant with 20million album sales, has already teamed up with Emeli on her new single, Trouble.
The pair co-wrote the song, although Emeli – who tied the knot with Adam Radojevic in Montenegro on Saturday – doesn’t sing on it.
But Leona has now set her sights on a duet that could compete with the debut single by whoever wins this year’s X Factor.
The TV show’s winner’s first single traditionally vies for the Christmas No1 spot.
Leona said: “I’d love to duet with Emeli. Oh my God, that would be so cool.”
And she even reckons X Factor boss Simon Cowell would approve of the idea.

Leona said: “It’s such a good idea. Simon would love it if we did a Christmas single together. He likes
competition. It gets his blood going.”
Leona and Emeli have been friends since teaming up to write songs for Leona’s third album, Glassheart, which is released next month.
The pair also collaborated with Naughty Boy, who has worked with Emeli throughout her career, and Fraser T Smith, the producer behind albums by Adele and Florence and the Machine.
Leona said: “I became friends with Emeli after Tinie Tempah got in touch with me. Tinie sent me her song Trouble.
“It was in a raw demo form. I got together with Emeli and said I really liked her idea. We collaborated a bit more and got the song to the stage it is at now.”
Leona, who broke up with her childhood sweetheart Lou Al-Chamaa after finding fame, says the sentiment behind the song Trouble really hit home.
She said: “There are a lot of songs about break-ups or about being in love. This song is real. It is something a lot of people go through. You are in a relationship and just can’t leave.”
Having recently turned up as a guest judge on The X Factor, she says Brits winner Emeli would have won the competition hands down had she ever decided to enter.
Leona said: “Emeli would have done great on X Factor. No matter what, that kind of talent will always shine through.”
