Hello everyone!!  As you may know Leona’s Glassheart Tour  was launched yesterday night in Berlin, Germany and the pictures, videos and details about the show has been already revealed by the fans that attended the concert!. We followed the event as some of the fans including @RichardJCork, @Craigizzle and @Surrey13 related the concert with tweets and pictures; Here’s a brief recap of the concert. This contains Spoilers so if you don’t want to know any details about the show please do not read the paragraphs bellow (I’ve added a spoiler tag, just in case).

The concert started off at 19:00 hours (German Time), with the performance of  local artist, Alexander Klaws as the support act. About half an hour later, Leona’s concert began! She opened the show at the beat of ‘Come Alive’ while she looked hot, wearing a black fitted jacket with a white collar and a pair of baggy pants; the show continued with the emotional ‘Fireflies’, the new incredible version of her single ‘A Moment Like This’, followed by a new mix of ‘Collide’, the high beated ‘Forgive Me’ and her epic mashup of ‘Better in Time/Man Down’. The show continued with an acoustic version of ‘Happy’, the powerhouse ‘Sugar’ , ‘I To You’, one of the most unexpected songs of the night ‘Broken’, and a surprising version of ‘Trouble’ played in the piano by herself. It was time for an outfit change, Leona showed up again wearing one of her known dresses with cut outs, as she prepared herself to sing a cover version of ‘Bruno Mars’ ‘Locked Out Of Heaven’, followed by ‘Footprinds in the Sand’, ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ which she dedicated to her grandmom; her classic ‘Bleeding Love’ preceded by the dance version of ‘Glassheart’. Finally, to close the night Leona performed her huge hit around the world (specially in Germany), ‘Run’, which I considered an amazing treat to the public there who’s always supported the song.! Without a doubt a show full of great visuals, great music, full of emotions and the more important impecable vocals and flawless interpretation!.

February 28th, London. Ethical beauty retailer The Body Shop is proud to reveal today that British singer and global superstar Leona Lewis has become its new Brand Activist.

Seven years since her triumph on The X Factor (UK), Leona has twenty million album sales and a glittering collection of awards and award nominations, yet remains grounded and true to her beliefs. An animal lover and long-time vegetarian, Leona is the perfect partner for The Body Shop and its unique vision of cruelty-free beauty.

As part of the partnership, one of Leona’s first activities is to help The Body Shop and NGO Cruelty Free International in their joint, global campaign to end animal testing for cosmetics forever, building on the EU ban on animal testing for cosmetics which comes into effect on March 11th this year.

Leona has also put her name to an exclusive cruelty-free make-up and fragrance collection, the Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis. Featuring 100% vegetarian cosmetics in fashion-forward shades, the Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis features quirky packaging with a floral deer motif, celebrating the fact that The Body Shop was one of the first beauty brands to use cruelty-free, man-made musk instead of musk derived from the musk deer. The Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis is available at selected stores from March 26th 2013.

To celebrate the partnership, Leona will also be holding an exclusive gig for fans which will be live streamed on March 26th 2013.  For more information on the gig, follow The Body Shop on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thebodyshopuk

Leona Lewis says: “I’m passionate about beauty and I’m all about animal rights. As a result, I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from. The Body Shop sells cruelty free, ethical products containing amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients. The collaboration is a natural fit!”

It’s been a tricky few years for songbird Leona Lewis. Hailed as the second coming of Mariah Carey (with mammoth like success to match), the singer seemed poised for global superstardom.

Yet, a mishandled sophomore album and an incredibly mis-judged third album have left the Londoner in quite the precarious position.

And while not vocalizing the usual “artist done wrong” narrative that so many in her position employ, The X Factor alum is letting her actions do the talking instead.

Full story after the jump…

In a surprising yet not entirely shocking move, the 27 year old this week announced that she had parted ways with Modest! management. Of course touted as “amicable”, Lewis said of the team who had steered her career since the start:

“I greatly enjoyed my time working with Modest! and I’m very proud of all the things we achieved together. I would like to thank them for all their hard work and support over the years. They played an important role in my career and I’ll always be grateful to them. I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my career.”

Modest! swiftly added:

“We were very proud to have Leona on the Modest! roster and of everything she has achieved. We wish her all the best in the next phase of her career.”

According to Music Week, the parting may indeed be as “amicable” as suggested (rare for an industry famed for saying one thing, but meaning another). For, Modest! are believed to be helping the star secure management in the US – with Front Line being touted as one of the major juggernauts in the running.

In the interim, Lewis will embark on a short European tour in support of her latest LP ‘Glassheart’, which -upon release last October-peaked at #3 in the UK and #4 in Ireland. The ‘Trouble’ led set was not released in America.

Plans thereafter will see the vocalist hit the studio to record her fourth project. Reacting to news of her management split, a spokeswoman for record label Syco issued a statement saying:

“Leona Lewis is one of the UK’s most successful artists, one of a few that have enjoyed huge global success in recent years selling more than 20 million records worldwide.

She will begin the recording of her fourth album imminently to be released later this year. She remains a key priority artist for Syco and for Sony Music Worldwide.”

Modest! Management and Leona Lewis have amicably ended their working relationship after six years together.

Whilst working with the UK management firm, Lewis broke global chart and sales records – and became the first British female artist to debut at Number One in the Billboard Album Charts.

Since working with Modest!, the artist has sold over 20m records worldwide, with single Bleeding Love going to No.1 in 30 countries.

Modest! directors Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee told Music Week in a statement: “We were very proud to have Leona on the Modest! roster and of everything she has achieved. We wish her all the best in the next phase of her career.”

Lewis said: “I greatly enjoyed my time working with Modest! and I’m very proud of all the things we achieved together. I would like to thank them for all their hard work and support over the years. They played an important role in my career and I’ll always be grateful to them. I’m looking forward to a new chapter in my career.”

Music Week understands that Modest! is helping Lewis find new management located across the Atlantic, with discussions taking place with Front Line and others.

Lewis has just finished the European ‘Art on Ice’ tour, which will be followed by headline German and UK tours which culminate with two dates at the Royal Albert Hall in May.

The 27-year-old’s third studio album, Glassheart, was released in October last year via Syco/RCA. It reached No.3 in the UK charts and No.4 in Ireland.
